Terms of use
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the "Civique : Examen & Quiz" app (iPhone, iPad, Android) and of this website, published by Isquare (see the legal notice). The terms that apply to purchases are in the terms of sale.
2. Acceptance
By installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
3. What the app is, and what it is not
- "Civique : Examen & Quiz" is an independent practice tool. It is not published by the French State, by the Ministry of the Interior, by the OFII or by any body that runs the civics exam. It is not affiliated with any administration and uses no emblem, flag or trademark of the State.
- The app does not guarantee that you will pass the exam. Experience points, badges, the day streak and the calendar are aids to regular practice, not a promise of results.
- The questions are original: they are not the exam's questions. Each explanation cites its public source where one exists.
- The exam rules may change. For the rules in force, always check the official sources (service-public.fr, Légifrance). Only the Journal officiel is authoritative. The app keeps no copy of official texts: it points to their official page.
4. Licence
The publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app on your devices, for your own use. For apps obtained on the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies in addition to these terms; for Google Play, the Google Play terms of service apply. Where they settle a point differently, they prevail over these terms.
5. No account
The app asks for no registration and no sign-in. What you do in it stays on your device (see the privacy policy).
6. Prohibited uses
- Copying, reselling, renting or redistributing the app or its content, except where the law allows it.
- Circumventing the purchase or limitation mechanisms of the app.
- Decompiling or disassembling the app, except to the extent the law expressly permits.
- Presenting the app as an official service or as a way of obtaining the exam.
7. Plans and purchases
The app offers a free plan and paid features (Premium). Details, and the rules on renewal, cancellation and refunds, are in the terms of sale and the refund policy. Indicative prices are on the Pricing page; the price the store shows before you buy prevails.
8. Accuracy of content
The publisher aims to provide accurate and up-to-date content, with no guarantee of completeness or freedom from error. If you think you have found a mistake, write to contact@isquare.digital and name the question concerned.
9. Availability and changes
The publisher does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The app and its features may change; some updates may be needed for proper operation or compatibility with the system. The features of each plan may be clarified or changed for the future, with respect for your consumer rights.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its name, icon, interfaces, texts, questions and illustrations are protected unless stated otherwise. No ownership right is transferred to you beyond the licence above. Third-party trademarks (Apple, App Store, iPhone, iPad, Google Play, Android) belong to their owners.
11. Personal data
How data is handled is described in the privacy policy and on the GDPR and your rights page.
12. Intended audience
The app is intended for adults. It is not intended for children.
13. Liability
Within the limits allowed by law, the publisher is not liable for the outcome of an exam or for decisions taken solely on the basis of the app's content. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor to the rights you enjoy as a consumer (including statutory guarantees).
14. Duration and end of use
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. This deletes the local data, but not a subscription or a purchase, which are managed with Apple or Google. The publisher may suspend access in case of serious breach of these terms.
15. Changes to the terms
The publisher may change these terms; the update date is shown at the top of the page. Continuing to use the app means you accept the new terms, subject to your consumer rights.
16. Governing law, disputes, mediation
These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence. In case of difficulty, write first to contact@isquare.digital (see also the Support page). Every consumer has the right to use a consumer mediator free of charge. Isquare has not yet appointed a mediator: the mediator's contact details will be published on this page once appointed. EU online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
